  I've been wanting a dog for a while and now that I have my own place I was ready for one. I saw a dog I liked on their website and went to see it. The staff was really friendly. I filled out an application for the dog. Since this is my first dog they talked to me and had questions for me, saying they wanted to make sure it was the right dog for me. I had lots of questions also and they answered all my questions, and has lots of good advice. They looked over my application and approved it after making some calls and I got to meet the dog Diamond. She was so cute and happy! I played with her for a little bit and they told me about her personality. but I realized she had too much energy for me. she was very hiper. So they brought out a different dog for me to meet and he was more laid back. Even though I went there thinking i would adopt Diamond, I fell in love with "Sampson". He has such a chill personality and is just what i was looking for in a dog. and he's so cute!! I adopted him and he is doing great at my house! I talked to the trainer they recommend and we are working on the house training. I love him so much and am so thankful the staff at the shelter helped me pick him out! I renamed him Lenny Boy, i think it fits him better. :)

  I have lived in Cabarrus County for over ten years, and recently been delighted to see the changes this shelter has made for the betterment of the animals. Their vounteers and Jana Loos has made a profound impact on the lives of so many animals. I have found them to be more transparent, and willing to work hard to get the adoptions up and less dogs at the shelter overall. The stress level of the spaces is way, way down and I am so grateful for each and every animal control officer who is there to ensure our county has the standards of living well seated for dogs in our community.
